How we compare
Comparison pages are usually written by the party that wins them. Here is the method, so you can judge whether ours is worth reading.
The rules we hold ourselves to
The vendor's own page, or nothing
Every claim about another product comes from that vendor's own documentation, pricing page or marketplace listing, with the URL and the date we read it. No review aggregator, no alternatives listicle. If a fact only exists on a third-party site, it does not go on ours.
No prices
We do not publish other vendors' prices. We could not read them from the vendors' own pages, because those figures render client-side. A price we cannot source is a price we do not publish, and a published price rots quietly between the day it is right and the day somebody quotes it back.
No universal negatives
We do not write that a product lacks something. That is a claim about everything a vendor ships and it cannot be checked by reading one page. We state where a capability lives instead, and cite the page that says so.
Structure, not scoring
No points, no verdicts, no badge saying we won. The comparison is about how the products are put together, which is checkable, rather than which is better, which is an opinion wearing a table.
Corrections welcome
If something here is wrong or has gone out of date, tell us and we will fix it. That offer is not decoration: these pages carry a date for exactly this reason.
The comparisons
LynxSprint and Jira
What a Jira team assembles when it needs an approved timesheet and a place to write things down, and how many products that turns out to be.
What is not here yet
A comparison of free plans across the market, and one with YouTrack. Both need figures we have not been able to read from the vendors' own pages. They arrive when we can source them properly, and not before.
Trademarks
Jira, Confluence and Atlassian are trademarks of Atlassian. Tempo and Timesheets by Tempo are trademarks of Tempo Software. They are named here to identify the products being compared. LynxSprint is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of either company.
