Your employer may also provide their own notice. Theirs takes precedence on questions about why they record your time. This one covers what the software records and what it cannot.
This notice is for you if your employer uses LynxSprint to record your working time. It is written to be read by the person whose time is being recorded, rather than by a lawyer.
Your employer decides why they use LynxSprint and what they do with the information. We build and operate the software on their instructions. For questions about why your time is being recorded, ask your employer. For questions about what the software is capable of, this notice is the answer.
What is recorded about you
- Who you are at work: your name, work email, job details, which teams and groups you belong to, and who you report to.
- Time you record: the date, the duration, an activity category, whether it is billable, and any note you add. Optionally a project or a work item, if your employer asks for that.
- Timesheet activity: when you submitted a period, when it was approved or rejected, and by whom.
- Your working pattern: your work schedule, expected hours, time zone, and the holiday calendar that applies to you.
- A change history: consequential changes are recorded with who made them and when. This protects you as much as it protects your employer, because it is what makes a disagreement about an approval answerable.
What is never recorded
These features do not exist in LynxSprint. There is no setting that enables them.
- No screenshots of your screen, and no webcam capture.
- No keystroke logging and no mouse-movement tracking.
- No record of which applications or websites you use.
- No location or GPS tracking.
- No idle-time or activity-level monitoring.
- No productivity score generated about you.
- Nothing that works without you knowing it is there.
We have written publicly about why, on our privacy stance page. Short version: if the value of a feature depends on you not knowing it exists, we do not build it.
What you can see and do
- Everything recorded about you is visible to you. There are no hidden fields, and you do not need to ask an administrator.
- You can export your own time entries and profile yourself.
- You can see your own change history.
- You can correct a draft entry. Once a period has been approved it becomes read-only, and corrections are made as a new recorded change rather than by editing history. That is what stops anyone quietly rewriting it later.
Who can see your data
Visibility follows your organization's structure rather than seniority. Your manager can see their reports. A group lead can see their group. Someone seeing everyone in the organization requires an explicit, separately granted permission. It is not implied by being an administrator of something else.
Sensitive fields, if your employer records any, are separately permissioned again and are hidden by default even from people who can see the rest of your profile.
Automated decisions and AI
LynxSprint does not make automated decisions about you. It does not score, rank or assess you.
AI features are optional and off unless your employer switches them on. When they are on, an AI assistant can only see what the person using it could already see, sensitive fields are removed before anything reaches a model, and it cannot approve, reject or change anything without a person explicitly approving that action.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, object to how it is processed, or ask for it to be deleted. Direct these to your employer. They control the data and we are not permitted to act on it on our own. If you write to us we will pass it to them and tell you we have.
You can usually also complain to the data-protection authority where you live.
Questions about the software itself
Email contact@lynxsprint.com. If you are a works council, union representative or data-protection officer assessing LynxSprint, we are happy to answer directly. The list above of what is never recorded is the commitment we expect to be held to.
